![]() It's a rare day when we have something good to say about the folks over at Fox Noise (to borrow Keith Olbermann's term), but we kind of like the way this anchor rips a new one for AlibiNetwork.com's spokeswoman. We only wish she'd also thought to comment on the woman's ridiculous wig and pointless shades. The website in question offers alibis for cheating spouses: AlibiNetwork.com will mail you invites to an out-of-town conference or even offer you a job with their partner company, for serious cases of long-term infidelity. (And it's not just a Stateside trend, by the way: they're doing it in France, too. Guess they're not as down with mistresses as rumor would have it.) AlibiNetwork.com's defense is, in a nutshell, that they didn't invent adultery. Dogs will be dogs, in other words. "We're just a service," the spokeswoman says repeatedly. But Fox's anchor will have none of this flimsy ethical reasoning, accusing the enabling site of being worse than the cheaters themselves. And in an even rarer moment of self-awareness, her co-anchor suggests that maybe, just maybe, Fox is aiding and abetting, too, simply by helping to publicize the site. Which leaves us, um...yeah, never mind. |
