There aren't many times when we feel truly understood by the mainstream media, but as Em was blearily scrolling through the news this morning--only half-conscious as she had been awake at 2:00 a.m. then 3:00 a.m. then from 4:00 to 5:00 a.m., because her guy "couldn't sleep" and felt the urge to share this news repeatedly with her--she noticed this headline: "Men sleep best beside mate; women sleep worse: Rest was more fragmented for females in shared bed, study found." It was a moment of epiphany: This must be what it feels like to be a fan of The View and to just feel like those women really get you. (Combine this research with the news that suppressing anger can be life-threatening to women, and it's a wonder women shack up at all.) So is it true? Women, do you tend to sleep worse when you've company? And men, is having a girlfriend spend the night kind of like cuddling your woobie?
