If one central theme could be said to run through all the sex and dating advice we've given over the past eight years, it's probably this: the importance of communication (followed closely by butt jokes and '80s references). We were just trying to save people's love lives, but who knew it was advice that could actually save your life, too? Recent studies found that women who bottled up their feelings during fights with their other half were four times more likely to die than those who expressed themselves. Researchers have linked silent brooding to health risks--including eating disorders, depression, and heart disease.

Men's health, on the other hand, remained unaffected whether they spoke up or not. And for both men and women, whether the marriage was a happy or unhappy one didn't make a darned bit of difference to their health, either. So, you know, speak the fuck up ladies! But fight fair, because the studies also found that kinder, gentler fighting is better for the health than bitter, angry fighting. (But if you were feeling kind and gentle, would you be fighting in the first place?!) Anyway, it's just another great excuse to keep having fabulous make-up sex.
