According to the annual sex survey conducted by Durex, New Zealand women have an average of 20.4 sexual partners--the highest in the world. The global averages were 7.3 for women and 13.2 for men. New Zealand was also the only country in the world where the men's average (16.8) was lower than the women's. (As we're sure some Aussies are already joking, we guess the Kiwi men didn't count all the sheep they shagged.) All of which makes us think that perhaps the Kiwi women are just a little more honest than your average poll-taker in the rest of the world. After all, we know women in this country who lie to themselves about how many men they've slept with, so what are the chances they're going to tell the truth in a survey?! If you're wondering how you stack up against your "countryladies" (at least according to the poll), women in the United States have an average of 8.6 partners, and the men 13.3. Unfortunately, however, the pollsters asked only about opposite sex partners. We guess being gay doesn't count--literally. Also, how the hell do you decide what constitutes a sexual partner, anyway? That's like asking the length of a piece of string or the definition of virginity. We say, take these statistics with a truckload of salt. And take your next vacation in New Zealand. |
