![]() Photo via Splash According to a bunch of recent surveys and books, that whole "don't shit where you eat" philosophy is on the wane these days. Experts say it's partly because the specter of '90s-style sexual harassment lawsuits is starting to fade, and partly because the line between work and play is increasingly fuzzy. Blame it on the Blackberry, Facebook-style networking, longer work hours, and an increased emphasis on "bonding" and "collaboration" in the workplace. Studies show that about half of us have dated a co-worker, and only about 34 percent of us keep it a secret (back in 2005, 46 percent of us kept it on the DL). Which sounds like good news, though we have to wonder if the fading taboo is making cubicle love a little less exciting.
Lo and her guy met almost a decade ago as co-workers and spent more
than a year "cleverly" timing their entrances each morning so that no
one would guess they had spent the previous night together. (Of course,
that five-minute lag time fooled no one, but the pretense was all part
of the fun, as were the quickies in the supply closet.) And does anyone
else think that Jim and Pam's relationship on The Office
has totally jumped the shark now that they can hold hands in the
conference room on their lunch break? We're having bad flashbacks to
Moonlighting after Bruce and Cybill finally got together. Besides, the
more open you are about the relationship, the more open you'll have to
be about its (probable) demise. So...have you ever dipped your pen in
the company inkwell? And if so, did you kiss and tell?
