Was no one here opposed to the text message break up? I'm okay with the gradual phase out if it's not serious but this is way to impersonal of a way to put an end to a rather personal thing.
Kelly said it best (in song), "You can't text message break up!"
In the age of silent dumps, hell, I'd even take a text message dump (and have taken e-mail dumps, one being from my fiance of 2 years) just so I fucking KNOW they dumped me instead of having to figure it out for myself.
Though yeah, texting it does make you look pathetic.

not necessarily- i've text broken up with someone but it wasnt a serious enough relationship to phone or talk face to face
sometimes its worth it- a "friend" cheated on her boyfriend and when he broke up with her via text i thought that was justified

I had a looooong conversation with a good friend about break ups last night and it may have changed my mind. We came to the conclusion, that being sat down and talked to really makes one person feel very small. This is the only way both of us have ever known to break up and it's very uncomfortable for everyone involved. I guess we both just need copies of Buh Bye.

(fast forward 2 minutes if you want to skip the funny small talk get to the text message breakup segment)
That's terrible. People should buy your book. I can't believe people polled are so comfortable with their excuses for their behaviour.
