That's one of the taglines of Peta2's new anti-fur campaign starring the Suicide Girls. "I'd rather go naked than wear fur" is another one of their old standbys they've refurbished for this round with the Internet's premier punk-rock pin ups

The two of us fall on either side of the issue: Em's the one who'd be happy to go naked as long as she could wear her Elmer Fudd wabbit-fur lined hat (she's got three Spencer Tunick photo shoots under her leather belt). Lo's the long-time anti-fur vegetarian who'd rather wear fur than go naked (she's got one Spencer Tunick shoot under her pleather belt and that was enough for her, thank you very much!) But both of us agree it's a pretty good campaign. Just two main critiques:

1) When the hell is Peta gonna get some hot naked men in on the animal rights action? Maybe we shut our eyes during one of their videos of horrific animal torture and missed it, but for such a liberal, provocative and often scandalous organization they always seem to err on the side of (semi) naked chicks, and sometimes in a two-steps backward kinda way. (For example, we hated that "Fur trim is unattractive" ad with "pubes" sticking out the sides of a woman's underpants. Come on, let's save preying on women's insecurities about their natural sexual state for the beauty industry.) We've always appreciated the sort-of empowering Camille Paglia "Kneel down before the all-powerful naked goddess and worship" approach to female nudity that the Suicide Girls have always taken, which is refreshing when it comes to Internet porn. But even two seasoned sex writers can get a little bombshell-shocked by female-only T&A on display. And what could be more scandalous and line-crossing and thus attention-getting than naked man meat?

2) According to their website, Peta2, as opposed to Peta, is "the youth program at PETA"--so they're on MySpace and Facebook, and their website has a black background instead of a white one. You know, they're "hip and cool" to appeal to the kids! All fine and dandy. But when we hear the word "youth," we think of people well under the age of 18. Sure, kids under 18 are sexual beings, and no doubt they're sneaking peaks at all sorts o' porn on the web (most way worse than SG). Even so, isn't there something a little weird about an ad campaign of naked women (women who spend their time being naked in more hardcore ways) aimed directly at "youth"? It's not helping matters when one of their poster children (emphasis on children) looks 12 years old.

See, sex writers can be prudes too!

Type the characters you see in the picture above.

After a break-up, do everything you can to avoid rose-colored hindsight. This may include playing that montage of fond memories over and over in the theater of your mind with the Dolby surround-sound system playing Muse or Maroon 5 on repeat. No good can come of this; you'll simply end up feeling more inadequate, lonely, and depressed. Instead, focus on your ex's faults. There must be at least one (besides their ability to live without you), even if it's just a malformed pinkie toe or a tendency to douse every meal in ketchup.
