 Photo via Splash In honor of last night's season premiere of Lost (yes, we're reluctant addicts), we found this awesome Onion video, "Evangeline Lilly Wins 'Best Wet T-Shirt Fight Scene' At Strong Women In TV Awards"--which really has nothing to do with Lost and everything to do with the lame idea perpetuated in TV and film that any woman's first priority is to be, above all else, sexy (basically, the entire thesis of Ariel Levy's Female Chauvinist Pigs packed into two bite-sized minutes of thigh-slapping satire). As always, the Onion nails the ludicrous in life with laser-like precision. While you're on their videos page, check out the segment "Use of 'N-Word' May End Porn Star's Career"; stick it out until at least the 2 minute-3 second mark for the kind of equal opportunity objectification you just can't find anywhere else. It's enough to make us wish their website would ask ours out. |
