 After Lo's significant other Joey caught up on our latest Bedpost postings (after a serious guilt trip laid by Lo), he took issue with our post on porn the other week. It went a little something like this: Joey: I think you guys have an out-dated view of what porn is like these days. There isn't a lot of cheesy dialogue, at least not in the amateur stuff on the Internet. Joey: Well, yeah, guys fast-forward through that stuff, because it's bad. But, wait, women get distracted? I watch porn online sometimes if I'm bored, or just out of curiosity. I find it amusing, sometimes disgusting, but for the most part it's just terrible.
Almost every single "movie" is the same, with one or two variables: A supposedly barely-18-year-old girl (who actually looks about 25+) introduces herself or is stumbled upon by the man, who is almost always just a penis or a voice or a hand. There is a few minutes of foreplay, which focuses excessively on her breasts, then she performs oral sex on him. Then they have vaginal/anal intercourse in 3-4 different positions. Maybe she's enjoying it, but most of the time it seems insincere and you know she's been going at it all day. The woman never gets to come, but at the end the male star gets to ejaculate all over her breasts/face/butt.
How is everyone not bored of this? Maybe I'm desensitized, but I could honestly watch hundreds of these without feeling "turned on." Genuine pleasure turns me on, but that's hard to come by in porn.

I watch porn regularly and am a woman. know about half of my female friends are not at all interested in porn and about half are.
How about a quiz asking women if they watch porn? Slightly more scientific ;)

Watching porn on the internet made it accessible to women in a way nothing else ever has. I love that freedom! More importantly we can find our own fetish with some really simple searches. Yes, it's predominantly geared to men with thousands of repetitive clips/movies of gonzo porn, but a little dedicated searching with various phrase combos will find you exactly what you're looking for.
I can see both Lo and her Hub's points of view. A good set, a good story idea and ppl who give a rats ass about the sex they are about to have as foreplay. Women need to get into the headspace for sex before the sex occurs. I do not want to watch some bored woman fake moan into the camera amd I can tell when the woman is rolling her eyes up to look at the man while giving him head if she's into it or if she's calculating what motion is going to make him cum quick so she can go brush her teeth.
On the other hand, I've found that reading a little erotica to get the 'set design, characters, etc' in my own head then watching the porn du jour helps a girl over look a lot of obessessing on details. I've made my own details with a good erotic read; now it's time to watch the culmination and have some me time.
