As you may remember, Glamour took some of our advice in their recent Q&A on orgasms. This week, in honor of Orgasm Month, we'll give you ALL of it...because a dirty mind is a terrible thing to waste. Today you get two questions for the price of one: neither of these made the final cut in print. (Tune in tomorrow for the final question):

I feel really self-conscious when I climax, worried about noises or the embarrassing face I'm making.  How can I get over myself and loosen up?

Watch some porn; those people make a lot of crazy noises and faces, and their viewers--especially the fellas--love it! It's a billion dollar industry, so those dying-cow moans count for something. Vocalizing helps convey your pleasure to your partner. And he's not thinking, "What's happening to her face?" He's thinking, "I love making her lose control like this...I'm such a stud!"

I want to try out some stuff from a sex shop. What works best?

Avoid cheap, plastic "novelties." Anything labeled as a "novelty" is "not intended for use," which is how sex toy companies avoid having to deal with government bureaucracies over safety. So that means you won't get any info with the product on how to use it correctly and safely, or how to care and clean it properly. And in some cases, it may not even be possible to use it safely or keep it clean. Cheap plastic toys may have rough seams that can harbor bacteria. And while you can certainly find affordable toys that are well made with safe material, "cheap looking" novelty toys aren't something we'd recommend for serious use. We'd also add that you should avoid jelly rubber when possible, as it contain phthalates, or toxins, which can leach out: if it's stinky and sticky, don't put it in you, at least not without a condom.Go for the higher quality stuff made of 100 percent silicone that comes with care and safety instructions. Fun Factory makes a whole range of fun, non-intimidating, user-friendly toys that are great for beginners and couples.

We hate to break it to you schmucks (and we mean schmuck in the most loving, Yiddish-for-penis way): Size matters. There, we said it. But in the immortal words of Einstein (and no doubt he was talking about skin flutes), it's all relative. What's a perfectly shaped cuke to one person is a disappointing pig-in-a-blanket to another and an overwhelming meat loaf to yet another.
