As any New Yorker will tell you, the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn has undergone a serious gentrification in the past few years. Its nickname is "the stroller derby" and long-time locals bitch about the fact that parents have invaded even the dive bars with their tots in tow. So we think it's totally brilliant that Babeland has just opened a branch in Park Slope. It pleases us on multiple fronts: On the one hand, it shakes things up a bit for all the self-involved parents there who think the world revolves around their strollers. But also, moms (and dads) need sex toys, too! We love the idea of a sex toy store packed with strollers. If you're in the city this Sunday at noon, stop by the store for the grand opening--the first 50 customers receive a free silver bullet vibe. Also, our friend Claire, Babeland's co-founder, promises balloons and cake. And, more importantly, wine. Later in the month, Babeland Brooklyn kicks off its"Sexy Moms Series" with a bunch of workshops that should really get them gossiping in the neighborhood playgrounds.
