Speaking of teens and sex: Last year, we wrote about the lipstick parties and the friends-with-benefits culture and the oral-sex-is-not-sex mentality rampant among teenagers today (especially girls) that we kept hearing about, and about how frankly we didn't get it. What was the appeal? Okay, what was the appeal for girls?

So we were relieved to hear about this recent study by the Guttmacher Institute which analyzed patterns in teenage sexual behavior between 1991 and 2002. According to Newsweek, "the first national study of teenagers and noncoital sexual activity" has found "that while over half of 15-to-19-year-olds have engaged in oral sex, they do not appear to be substituting oral sex for intercourse, nor are they commonly having oral sex with multiple partners." Thank gawd.

We should have given girls more credit. Now if they'll just stop wearing Playboy Bunny bedazzled T-shirts.

I, for one, do enjoy fellatio.
I am also a 17 year old girl.
Before people go nutso, I want it known that I do know the risks, and the men I perform it on I've got some history with. In other words, I trust them. What I don't understand is why people so frequently call the more sexually open girls sluts. I understand that virginity is something you can't get back, and some women place high value on that. And good for them. But why do I have to be a slut just because losing my 'v-card' just wasn't a big deal to me. I thought America was s'posed to be an accepting, liberalistic country. What happened?
