It's so true about looking at the guy's lips! I got that hint from a lady friend of mine when I first started dating, and I always a) look at her lips to send a signal myself and b) check to see if she's looking at my lips before going in for the first kiss. Having a sign to look for really boosts my confidence, personally, which leads to better smooches.

(Either that or, if I'm still not completely sure, I just plain ask, which oddly enough has had good results so far. Sooo...)
